Purpose and legal basis
Measurement is used exclusively to understand traffic, viewed content and site operation on behalf of the publisher. The legal basis relied upon is the publisher’s legitimate interest in measuring and improving this site. This assessment must remain proportionate and may need to evolve with regulation or service use.
Minimal data
No cookies, local storage or durable identifiers are used. The server briefly processes the viewed page, time, referring site reduced to its host name, a device category and the IP address required for transmission. The raw IP address and full user agent are never recorded.
Pseudonymisation and aggregation
The IP address is immediately transformed through HMAC using a private secret and a different derived key each day. The short pseudonym is used only to estimate visitors and sessions for that day, then deleted within 48 hours. Retained statistics are aggregated by day.
Country estimation
When a local IP-to-country lookup database is installed on the server (DB-IP Lite Country, Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence), the request's IP address is compared in memory against this database to estimate a country, without calling any third-party service. Only the resulting country code feeds a daily aggregate counter; the IP address is never recorded for this purpose. If no range matches, or if the database is not installed, no country is shown.
Retention, recipients and hosting
Aggregates are kept for thirteen months, then deleted automatically. They are available only to the publisher through a protected dashboard. The data remain in the Hostinger hosting space used by this site and are not sold, combined with other processing or sent to a third-party analytics service.
Your rights and objection
You may request information or exercise your rights through the site’s contact address. Because no durable identifier is retained, it may be impossible to retrospectively associate an aggregate with a person. The site honours Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. The link below also lets you continue internal navigation without measurement and without placing a tracker.
Limits of the figures
Visitor and session counts are estimates. A shared IP can combine several people, one person can change IP, daily rotation splits visits at midnight, and bot protections are not perfect.
